Mind maps are a useful tool to organize one's thoughts to solve problems and achieve goals. This free program lets you create virtual mind maps.
It has an extensive library of objects that you can incorporate into your map, such as child and sibling nodes, as well as different types of icons to tag each node. For example, you can tag a node as your main idea, add other secondary nodes and identify them as an idea, danger, red, yellow or green traffic light, and so on. It is also possible to include hyperlinks to webpages when appropriate, and use images from your own collection to identify any part of the map.

The program includes many of the tools of a text processor, such as different fonts, types and sizes, formats and other items. Nevertheless, it is not very easy to use. You need to have some previous knowledge on how to build a mind map, and fiddle with the program for a while to get accustomed to it.
